Pre-Selector at The Bay International Film Festival

The Bay International Film Festival is an annual film festival running in Morecambe, North West England. The festival encourages submissions from the Lancashire and Cumbria area and worldwide.

I have volunteered to take up the role of pre-selector, with my main duties being shortlisting film submissions by rating them according to 5 categories: storytelling, performance, cinematography, sound design/music, and editing. The results are then passed to the festival’s selection committee for further assessment.

Through reviewing numerous local and international short film submissions, not only have I been exposed to a larger variety of genres, themes, and styles, but also had a taste of judging films on behalf of a festival instead of submitting to one.
